School Policy
Lesson Cancellation:
Failure to attend a scheduled lesson or to provide notification of cancellation within a 24-hour notice period will result in the forfeiture of the lesson.
Lessons canceled with at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled lesson time will be rescheduled for a makeup lesson within two weeks of the canceled lesson. Makeup lessons will be conducted by the student's primary teacher or a substitute teacher at a mutually convenient time for both the student and the teacher.
Lesson Schedule:
Lessons are conducted year-round. During the Summer Term (July 1 - August 31), all students are strongly encouraged to schedule a minimum of four piano lessons. If your child prefers to take a summer break, please inform us by the end of May.
Photo and Video Release Form:
Periodically, we may utilize photographs and brief videos of our students on our website. If you do not wish for your child's image(s) to be used, please inform us. Students will be identified solely by their first names.
Annual Registration:
An annual registration fee of $25cad per student is applicable, covering the cost of all learning materials, including customized sheet music, access to learning applications, performance incentives, recital planning, exam preparation, and time-slot reservations. This fee will be charged starting from the second month, signifying the student's commitment to our program.
Withdrawal from Vivace Music:
The first month of lessons serves as a "Trial Run," allowing you to discontinue the program immediately if it does not meet your expectations.
After the initial month, one month's notice is required for withdrawal. For instance, if you decide not to continue after March 13th, your last class will be at the end of April. This notice period accommodates any scheduling challenges in securing substitute teachers and to ensure a smoother transition for the student, promoting consistency and dedication to their musical journey. Formal withdrawal requests must be sent to support@vivacemusic.ca.
It is essential for students currently preparing for a music exam to complete the exam. Failure to do so will result in a penalty of $200. This requirement underscores the commitment to achieving musical proficiency and recognizes the investment made in exam preparation. However, you may retain credits and resume exam completion at a later date.
Payment Method:
Payments can be made via credit card or Apple Pay. Your enrolled subscription fee will be automatically billed on the first day of each month, ensuring uninterrupted service.Additional tuition fees will be applied for months with more than four weeks. Additionally, a 1% interest charge will be levied for late payments. Please notify us if you need to update your credit card information due to expiration or other reasons.
Change of Lesson Duration:
If you wish to increase or decrease the duration of your lessons, our program administrator will adjust your subscription plan for your convenience.
Pause and Reactivating Your Plan:
If you decide to pause or reactivate your plan, our program administrator will make the necessary adjustments to your subscription.
